At Getitdropship.com, we’re happy to offer free standard shipping on all orders over $100 USD (before taxes and discounts) within the United States.
Details:
• Orders under $100 will be charged a standard shipping rate, shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
• Free shipping applies to standard delivery only. Expedited or express options are available at an additional cost.
• The offer is valid for domestic U.S. orders (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories).
• Order total must equal $100 or more after discounts to qualify for free shipping.
Note:
We reserve the right to update or change our free shipping offer at any time, but any changes will be clearly reflected on this page and in promotional materials.
In the United States, it’s not automatically illegal to advertise “Free Shipping” without posting a dollar amount on your website but there are strict rules from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that govern how you can use that claim.
Here’s the breakdown:
A. What’s Allowed
You can say “Free Shipping” on your website as long as:
1. It’s genuinely free, meaning customers don’t have to pay extra for shipping beyond the normal product price.
2. You don’t hide shipping costs elsewhere (e.g., inflating product prices just to cover shipping without saying so).
3. Any conditions are clearly disclosed; for example, if free shipping only applies to orders over $50, you must clearly say “Free shipping on orders over $50” or something similar.
B. What’s Not Allowed (FTC Deceptive Practices)
It becomes deceptive advertising (and illegal) if:
• The offer misleads customers about the total cost (for example, marking up prices to cover “free” shipping).
• You say “Free Shipping”, but it only applies in limited circumstances, and you don’t disclose those limits upfront.
• You advertise “Free Shipping” but later charge a handling or processing fee that functions like a shipping cost.
C. FTC Rule Reference
The FTC’s Guides Against Deceptive Pricing and Truth-in-Advertising laws (15 U.S.C. §§ 52–55) require that any “free” offer must not be misleading. “Free Shipping” is covered under the same principle.
In Short
• “Free Shipping” without a dollar amount is perfectly fine
as long as it’s truly free and no hidden conditions apply.
• If conditions do exist (like a minimum spend), you must clearly display them near the offer not buried in small print.
